Our Story

From New York to the world.

ShopShops began with a simple idea: shop the world from the comfort of home, with the excitement of a real destination shopping experience.

2016

ShopShops is founded in New York.

Liyia Wu starts ShopShops to connect shoppers with stores, sellers and discoveries beyond their own city.

2018–2021

Backing the next chapter.

ShopShops raises seed and Series B funding from investors including Union Square Ventures, Forerunner Ventures, LightShed Ventures and Acrew Capital—supporting its expansion in the U.S. and the growth of its global live shopping community.

2025

A new chapter with Komehyo Holdings.

Komehyo Holdings is one of Japan’s leading pre-owned luxury and fashion groups, with a heritage dating back to 1947. Today, the group operates more than 330 locations worldwide, with an extensive presence across major cities in Japan and international markets including Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore and Shanghai, with a New York City retail store coming soon.
